The archaeological zone of Uxmal is one of the most representative Mayan cities of the Puuc route. It is located in the municipality of Santa Elena, approximately one hour from Mérida. Its architecture and mysticism conquer thousands of tourists from all over the world, who come every year to visit it and live a unique experience. It is estimated that it was founded in the seventh century, during the first occupation of the classical period, and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996.
Among the buildings that stand out on the site are the Pyramid of the Fortuneteller, Quadrangle of the Nuns, Governor's Palace, Ball Game, House of the Turtles, The Great Pyramid, Conjunto de la Casa de las Palomas and the South Temple.
Uxmal has a service unit that offers rest area, craft shops, ticket office, parking, toilets and tourist guides service in several languages. Among the attractions that can be enjoyed in the area, there is the night show of light and sound that is projected in the Quadrangle of the Nuns, and takes visitors on a journey through history, traditions and legends.
